===== What is Maxxing? =====

Maxxing is getting your permanent HP (or EP) to the maximum total available for your class.

**Reasons to max:**
  * More HP = survive more places and safer lair hunts
  * More EP (for ments/healers) = longer dungeon hunts without breaks or zaps
  * Maxxed HP/EP = hunt longer and more efficiently, faster skill and experience gain

**Reasons not to max:**
  * It's expensive
  * It's a long, tiring process

===== HP Sources =====

==== Level 1: Yellow Pots & Majors ====

  * Drink yellow pots and majors to increase HP up to 150
  * Yellow pots give 1 or 1-4 HP (3birds)
  * Majors give 2 HP or more (depending on class)
  * You can buy any HP you don't get at level 1 from the hit doc later

==== Level 13: Hit Doctor ====

  * Located in a small hut southeast of Volcano Town (no doors)
  * Access: Jump down the VT hole, run the gauntlet to the cave end, take stairs up
  * Alternative access: Blast walls with grenade, blast hammer, blast disc, MA chi wallbreak, door disc, or illusion
  * Stand on his hex, keep coins in sack. Use ''#nam, buy'' (where nam is his name)
  * He'll tell you how much he needs; drop coins then repeat the command
  * **Alternative method:** Click his box, choose climbing skill (he can't take coins for climbing, so he takes coins for HP)
  * **Charisma matters** — higher charisma = lower cost. Use charisma rings.
  * Typical cost: 15-60 megs depending on class (barbs are most expensive due to high HP pool)

==== Level 15+: Mino Bloods ====

  * Drink mino bloods on KM-5 for additional permanent HP above hit doc's max
  * Must be level 15+ and in King Mino lair

==== Overmax HP ====

  * After maxxing with hit doc and minos, the only way to gain permanent HP is leveling
  * Lost overmax HP (from being eaten by chipper, etc.) can't be fixed by hit doc or minos as long as you're above both maxes
  * Be careful not to get eaten if you want to keep HP as high as possible

===== EP Maxxing =====

  * Drink EP pots (black bottles) found in dungeons or bought at Fun House for 500k
  * **EP pots give 1-6 EP up to 250 max EP**
  * Maxxing EP at level 1 gives MORE total EP than waiting:
    * Max at level 1 = ~250 EP → rest to level 13 → gain ~100 overmax EP → ~350 total
    * Much better than maxxing at level 13
  * Typical EP maxxing cost: 50-80 million coins (21-125 megs depending on luck)
  * Try to find EP pots in dungeons rather than buying at FH (save money)
  * Make friends who find EP pots for you
