They tend to have good agility, intelligence and willpower. Many of the great Mentalists of Drakkar are Woodlands Dwellers. ===== Stat Caps ===== Woodlands Dwellers are the **only race that can roll 19 in Intelligence** at character creation. Since Intelligence determines EP (energy points) for psionic characters and is essential for forming psionic disciplines, this gives them a permanent edge in the mental arts. The trade-off is a **Strength cap of 17**, one below standard. This limits their melee damage and carry weight. ^ Stat ^ Cap ^ Notes ^ | INT | **19** | Only race that exceeds 18 INT at creation | | STR | **17** | One below standard; limits melee damage | | CHA | 18 | Standard — keeps training costs reasonable | | LCK | 18 | Standard — no strip penalty | Note that stat pots in Nork can raise Intelligence to 19 for all races, so the Woodlands Dweller's INT advantage is primarily at character creation. However, starting at 19 INT saves the cost of finding an INT pot. ===== Character Creation Tips ===== * Woodlands Dwellers keep 18 in both CHA and LCK, making them the **best non-Human race** for avoiding the long-term penalties of low social stats. * Reroll until you get 19 INT, 18 CHA, and 18 LCK. The 19 INT is the whole point. * The 17 STR cap only matters for melee-heavy builds. For casters, it's irrelevant. * Natural tendencies toward high Agility, Intelligence, and Willpower make this race a natural fit for psionic classes. ===== Recommended Classes ===== ^ Class ^ Why ^ | Mentalist | "Most Mentalists are of the Woodlands Dweller or City Dweller races." 19 INT maximizes EP and discipline power | | Fighter/Mentalist | 19 INT for the mental side; 17 STR is partially offset by disciplines | | Healer | High INT and WIL tendencies benefit EP and discipline resistance | ===== See Also ===== * All Races — stat cap comparison table * Classes — all playable classes * Character Stats — how stats affect gameplay * Fating — can randomly change your race > Sources: ROAR, Tantheus, Telletran
