Skill 17 - Parry
// "You move to a parrying position." // Puts your paladin in a defensive position with his/her weapon. Protects generally better than a shield, especially at higher skill levels. Blocks attacks at lower skill levels; meaning your weapon is more likely to incur damage as a shield would. Deflects attacks at higher skill levels; meaning your opponents are more likely to miss, and little or no damage will occur to your weapon. Age from Parry is insignificant or non-existent. MACROS; macro, focus parry. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 18 - Strike
This is your paladin's first real offensive foci. You should notice an increase in damage to your opponent, and seems to prone and combat stun a bit more. Strike ages more than normal attack. MACROS; macro, focus strike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 19 - Blindstrike
This enables your paladin to attack opponents without being able to see them. Hits harder than normal attack, prones and combat stuns a lot. Ages worse than normal attack. MACROS; macro, focus blindstrike. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 20 - Multistrike
This enables your paladin to attack multiple opponents on one hex. Number of opponents attacked is determined by your "attacks per round." Hits harder than normal attack, and prones and combat stuns often. WARNING: This focus will cause you to attack anything on your hex! Friend, foe, and neutral creatures alike can be hit with Multistrike. Multistrike also hits invisible or hidden entities. For pole arm users, you cannot Multistrike opponents one hex away. Ages worse than any focus thus far. MACROS; macro, focus multistrike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 21 - Boost
//"You feel a surge or energy."// This is a preparatory focus reminiscent of a martial artist's Chi, and incorporates the healer disciplines of Strength and Agility. Stuns for 3 rounds. Adds +2 to your paladin's strength and agility for several rounds. Age incurred does not appear to be significant. MACROS; macro, focus boost. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 21 - Thruststrike
This focus works like an improved Charge attack. All classes can use Charge once they have achieved skill 15 with their weapon. This focus causes your paladin to jump up to 3 hexes toward your opponent. If your opponent is running from you, you can usually chase it down and kill it with this discipline. 5 points of damage are incurred from every Thruststrike attack. WARNING: Thruststrike will cause you to attack gray-tagged characters if you right click on them. Seems to hit about at hard as Multistrike, as is the age incurred. Prones often. MACROS; macro, focus Thruststrike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 22 - Powerstrike
This focus is an improved version of Strike. This will be your paladin's hardest hitter thus far. Prones and combat stuns often. Age incurred is at least as bad as Multistrike. This focus can replace Strike on your macro bar. MACROS; macro, focus powerstrike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 23 - Defend
//"You leap forward to defend Ted Nugent!"// There is some conjecture about the effectiveness of this focus. It seems to cause your paladin to Parry around an ally, but it does not seem to give that ally the same protection from attacks as when the paladin Parries him or herself. The character you intend to Defend must be on your hex. Age incurred from this focus is little or non-existent. MACROS; macro, focus defend. Check 'needs path.' This means you will need to slide your cursor around red-tagged characters to the gray-tagged character you wish to Defend. Sliding the Defend target cursor over a red-tagged character will cause you to have to re-click your Defend macro.
Skill 24 - Superboost
//"You feel a POWERFUL surge of energy."// This focus is an improved version of Boost, and can replace it on your macro bar. Superboost stuns for 4 rounds, but gives your paladin +5 Strength, +5 Agility, and Speed (a milder version of Haste) for several rounds. Age incurred does not appear to be significant. MACROS; macro, focus superboost. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 25 - Armorstrike
This focus enables your paladin to attack an opponent with 2 quick armor-damaging blows. Armorstrike ages worse than Multistrike or Maxstrike. This will become your paladin's primary attack for the rest of his life (unless you somehow have the market cornered on Youth Potions). Armorstrike can replace Strike and/or Powerstrike on your macro bar. MACROS; macro, focus armorstrike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 26 - Ultraboost
This is an improved version of Superboost, and can replace it on your macro bar. Ultraboost adds +8 Strength, +8 Agility, and Speed to your paladin. Age from this discipline appears to be negligible. MACROS; macro, focus ultraboost. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 27 - Maxstrike
//"You swing forth with a fierce blow!"// This is an improved version of Armorstrike, but you may want to leave Armorstrike on your macro bar, for Maxstrike is an awful ager. The age from Maxstrike is comparable to the age from Earthcrush on a psi-user. To give you an idea, were you to use Maxstrike as your normal attack during a day of general hunting, you'd be needing a Youth Potion about every other day. This is the 2nd hardest-hitting paladin focus. And make no mistake, Maxstrike does damage armour. MACROS; macro, focus maxstrike. Check 'target lock.'
Skill 28 - Disarm
//"You fail to disarm the opponent." "You disarm Ted Nugent."// This focus will make your paladin very popular. Disarm enables your paladin to knock the weapon right out of an opponent's hand. For most higher lairs, the weapon is belted in lieu of being knocked on the floor. MACROS; macro, focus disarm Ted Nugent. This means....if you are indeed trying to Disarm Ted Nugent, you'll need to type his name in the macro box. This is something you'll want to do before you engage in combat with any creature you hope to Disarm. Check 'needs path.'
Skill 28 - Healing Touch
//"A surge of energy goes through your body."// Alas, your paladin can behave like a quasi-healer. Healing Touch enables your paladin, even with hands full, to heal him or herself. At skill 25+3, only most of your paladin's hit points may be restored with Healing Touch. It seems that 91% of Nork hits are restored, compared to 79% of Cobrahn hits. The effectiveness of Healing Touch may be linked to your paladin's willpower, his or her most important statistic. The numbers listed above were calculated from a paladin with a current willpower of 19. Healing Touch cannot be cast like a spell at an ally. MACROS; macros, focus healingtouch. Check 'auto return.'
Skill 29 - Pierce
More information coming on this focus soon.
When making macros for your foci, be sure to name them something that helps you distinguish one from the other. I use the obvious names for mine, but it's not mandatory that Parry be listed as “Parry” on your set macro screen, for instance. Also take care when using armour-damaging foci against creatures you mean to tan, or who's armour you mean to claim. It's possible for bad things to happen.
