Short list: Popes are a plague and should be killed mercilessly on sight Bring IV Wear stun prot Stay outta Van and Sassy lair-Ren
Just a quick note… all rooms are twiggable. Havent found a non-twiggable one yet. Anything outside rooms is not twiggable… That is what I have figured out so far. -Mihey
Gear: At least two psicutters, preferably three. You can try pAssault cloaks, pEnmiss robes, bracers,, etc, but I think the psiCut is most effective. A decent size Ment in the party should keep Absorption up on everyone. You NEED antistun, i.e., a Healer in the party or a ninghi helm. COB pStun twigs fail frequently starting at UD2. A blindstrike/multistrike pally can get away with no IV if hunting solo on empty UD1 and UD2 levels. Otherwise, you need IV or a Ment in the party. You also need very decent combat gear starting on UD2. The quazes don't hit too often but when they do, uh oh, you will probably be dead. Coin, gems and experience are very, very good on all levels.
UD1 Psi: Assault, enmiss, darkness Phy: quaz (hide, thrown daggers), mummy (GS), rada (hand)
UC1 is a relatively easy place to start with basic gear. Although you will need some psicutters to keep the constant pecking away of your hits to a minimum. I would totally familiarize myself with UC1 before I progressed to other levels. On this level you will encounter, enmiss, assault, critters reasonably skilled with weapons. It takes some getting used to the contant psi barrage of attacks, but doable.
The key for those of us that are smaller is that there are 2 places you will run into Quaz's commonly on this level. Stay away from them. They take awhile to hit you which means it takes awhile for you see where they are. Also on a really rare day for some reason a crit besides a Quaz will pop you for 700-900. On UC1 this is very rare but does happen.
UD-1 can be an excellent place to gain quick experence for smaller people, but beware, psi CAN HURT, even in this “newbish” area. Unprotted-psi shots will hit for 180 from each blob, and the emiss can hit for about.. 75-100 in my experence. Throw on a couple kaldor robes and a cutter and you will be fine. once your almost totally protted for this place you can gain alot of quick and easy EXP.
Improva on this level - obtain the 4 elemental scrolls to improve a forged weapon.
UC2 The thing about UC2 is stay away from blobs on this level. I have only survived a stun once on from them and that was because it was out of psi and resorted to weapon attacks and was the only crit in sight at the time. Level 18 ps rings are useless against them as has been said so they are not a joke. There are usually two or 3 quaz's in one area to avoid {I understand from other players the quaz's comonnly regen around the green rectangle in s.e. corner of this level} but they are near alot of healers so I rarely live long enough to get near them and worry with them anyway. UD2 Psi: add BIG stun to the list Phy: radas up here are tougher to hit, quazes can one shot most players with a proning hit
UC2 has bigger versions of the same critters, with more intensity of their attacks. Quaz's start to hit a bit harder with daggers. Some very nice gold and random treasure on this level. The shield house on this level is a safe house and twiggable
This place is basicly a pumped version of UD1. Psi hits harder, so does the enmiss. And to add to it you have some nasty stunners sitting around. This also is a great place for exp. I love this place :)
Shield house where can trade for +100 and +200 shields.
UD3 Psi: add charm and scare to the list. espear Phy: quazes, mummies and rads really start hitting hard. quazes are especially dangerous. blobs mend themselves
UC3 is a joke for a player my size. I can go there and if a Quaz does not see me and I fight one crit at a time I can kill 3 or 4 maybe before something one shots me. I don't go near blobs or quazs if I see them so I have never fought a blob and only been one shotted by a quaz one time so don't know if the hit is survivable or not at lower cob levels.
UC3 is for the advanced to moderately advanced player. Even when outfitted with the psicrush gear, espear protection and anti - stun, most players will find it quite challenging until they map out a good plan. Very interesting graphics on this level. The gold is tremendous and the skill is fairly decent if you party or hit hard enough to kill quickly.
This is where all the fun started for me. Ive been hit by espear, assault, probably some other things. If you dont have a nin helm, dont even bother going down. Also was great exp for me. But the quaz at this point have the abbility to one shot alot of players if proned+backstabbed. Nasty at times but quite fun.
UD3.5 Same as UD3, only in bigger numbers.
I am not sure if the correct term is 3.5, but thats what me and my friends call it. The first area you go in has no psi, just physical, and not very rough either. kills give +51k per kill. and they dont have a WHOLE lot of hp. Very fun area. You can also go into the square, and around, and each room has its own type of crit. Blobs, Umbers, quaz's. ect.
Anything beyond that is out of my reach so I can't give you the low level cob perspective on it. I agree with the bigger players though that have said stick with UC1 I can leave there alive at lease 75% of the time if I am careful and always full of gems in seconds. I leave UC2 alive 10-20% of the time. Of the few times I have been to the entrance of UC3 the only times I left alive was the first time I went through and instantly ran back because like 5 crits were there and once I went through and someone had everything dead. UC4 is the start of Pax's evil mentality. These are pumped versions of UC3 critters and these crits can lay out very beefy damage. I would compare it to the km4 of Cobrahn. The radas here will deplete your disciplines if they make contact with you. :> Some very nice loot, experience and skill depending on your class/party status.
Probably not a good idea to go here alone unless your at one of the highest stages of size. Psi crush, Charm, EC, Espear, LOTs of nasty spells down here. Ouch. Great experence but quite nasty. Best to go with a party. I went down there at 20/17 and got completely destroyed.
UD4, UD5 Psi: psicrush makes an appearance. I believe Blobs cast heal. These are absolutely dreadful places for even the biggest players in the game. I've never lasted more than a few rounds.
UC5 may well be the toughest dungeon in the game. About everything you can think of that will happen to you, happens here. Earthcrush, PSICRUSH, Charm, Stun, Paralyze, Espear, Blind, Dark - huge radablackbelts that will prone and pummel you into a 90 pound weakling; Mummies that can one shot you; Skeletons that are very tough. And if that ain't bad enough, they seem to like to attack in numbers, so you may experience all of the different kind of attacks at once. UC5 is also the level of several quests and dungeons with its associated lair crits. I like to think that UC5 is the place that has roaming lair critters, because that's about the classification of the power that these critters have.

thing i have noticed, and personaly tested.
I KNOW fs bracers become more powerful each level you go down , that fs bracs from ud-1 prot 100 points fs dmg. and UC-3.5 bracs prot atleast 288 fs damage, i'm betting it's around 300. It's my advice that you give out the uc-1 bracs to small healers who just make it to cob. That way they can kill zoos easier and get full skill from it. and it's MUCH MUCH MUCH better skill then EC, and ages ALOT less. And for smaller healers, they'll do more damage per/ep using fs over EC. And if they can get 2 Guntver robes, which are psi cutters, but only 1 counts per robe/armor slots, they can do up to 200 dmg of fs undamaged. it's a good time for smaller healers. and 2 guntver robes stack for almost or over 20 ep regen average. most large players are more then willing to help healers/ments get guntver robes. because we know the difficulty and rarity of Loriappa.
Guntver casts EC for like 1k+ to non-barbs unprotted. so wear gd or ec ammy >
Acid breath, Firebreath, Icebreath, Espear, Psicrush, and pokes you with his ummm…. staff… yeah. that's it. :D
