Reflections

As I sit here and write this the Storm guild is fast approaching it's 2nd birthday and in the 2 years since I started this guild all I can say is Wow. From being level 13 and not quite maxxed to being what some would consider as a top end lair guild. Hard to imagine how far we have come in the last 2 years. We have DPed and conquered every lair we can get our hands on with the exception of 2 as of yet undoable lairs. All thanks to the warmest group of friends who followed me into sure death and never thought twice about it. A special thank you from me for all you have made this guild to be and all that we will ever be. I could not have done it without each and everyone of the contributions made by the former members, The present members and everyone that has helped us along the way. To each and every one of you I say congratulations. I hope we have many further adventures and I look forward to the next big challenge we come across. I made this page for all of you to post your thoughts and comments about your time in Drak and the adventures you have seen.

Sincerely,

Arithawn_STORM

The Wardens and Other Musings, why I love the guild:

I'm sitting here all broken hearted,

Went to

Never mind

Drak is down for a bit and my mind is wandering. I've been thinking about the recent departures of people, where the guild was when I started and where it is now.

I would hope that from time to time we remember all the defeats and death piles we have made. It keeps things somewhat in perspective since there are few things that we can no longer do.

True, we have grown quite a bit. Even the mighty Wardens fell to us. Excalibur is in the hands of the mighty Par, though I found it amusing that we fully expected to die horribly, we went anyway. This is the first and foremost and maybe the reason I joined Storm in the first place.

I am reminded of a story from the book “A Lion in Winter” about King Richard. It seems that Richard and his knights were facing a sure death when the following exchange happened.

Geoffrey to Richard: “YOU FOOL, as if it matters how a man falls down.”

to which Richard the Lion Hearted quietly replied

Richard: “When the fall is all that is left, it matters a great deal”.

I am sure that from time to time we will all fall again. I simply hope we remember how to do it.

Quiet Thoughts:

I read Mick's posts and thought I would respond with a few of my own. As I am the only person left of the original 5 Stormies that started this I think I will tell you all a bit about the Early days and why I am so honored and proud to lead the Greatest group of players in this game.

March of 2001 I had just left DREAD after personal differences with the way the guild was run and the gear distributed. I stayed long enough for Relic to get his vamps and stick for the hunt and detagged right after. Relic and I talked for about a week about a new guild and he offered some ideas and a few names None of which ever saw the light of day once I decided STORM would be neat. I sent countless messages to Irish and Raistlin and Tanya for advice on how to start what to do what makes a guild great with people and personalities.

The very first STORM only hunt was the RD VT and the first 3 liches. Soon we were teaming up with JA doing SER's and the power lair that they are we saw many deaths in there not to mention the nasty golem's in M-4. Now Looking back at Wardens….Here we are Masters of all the land. Rightfully earned I can count almost 1000 lost HP on my pally alone.

There have been several that have come and gone. They are remembered and I think of each and every member that is here and was here all the time. This game and guild are my pride and joy. Each and every member is special in his or her own way. What we all bring together in this game is what makes this guild great.

The massive DP's to each and every lair worthwhile to hunt in this game prove alot. No matter the laughter the criticism the ridicule we had to endure not all that long ago because we didn't hunt like any other group at all. No matter what and through it all We stuck together and learned each and every lair in the game to hunt it our own way and do it like no other group in the game.

So Here we are almost 2 years later. As I sit here now and reflect a bit all I can do is smile. Each and every one of you should be proud of all we have accomplished. The warm and caring personalities behind the KB are what makes this group the best and most special group I have ever seen in this game. The loyalty to each other and our tag are uncanny in these new days of Drak.

To each and every one of you I can say only this. The day I die I can look back and say I have never known such wonderful people as I knew in the Storm guild. Thank you to each and every one of you for your countless hours of skilling and killing so we could have all we wanted or needed. Thanks to every one of you for your loyalty,Your support and the love of this guild and the game that make us the best of the best in all of Drak.

Unfortunately there will be more DP's followed buy hours of puzzling and guessing before we are able to conquer with ease. I know each and every one of you will do your best to face the new challenges as they come and to preserver through all the challenges we face in and out of this game.

Congratulations to all of you. I am proud of you all.
