Maxing

Maxing is getting permament hp to maximum total hp 

  available (same for maxing ep).

Reasons to max:

  1. more hp you have, more places you can survive and lair hunts are safer
  1. for ment (and fighter/ment) and healer classes, maxxing eps lets them hunt in

dungeons longer without a need to take a break or drink zaps; also they can do lair hunts 

  without worry for lack of eps. Well, not without... just less worry :o) And dont spend as
  many zaps as they would othewise do.
  1. with maxed hp (and ep) you can hunt longer and more efficently, thus raising

income and speeding experience and skill gain

Reasons not to max:

  1. it is expensive, however if you grit teeth, you will come there
  1. sometimes you cant afford even stans :o\
  1. maxxing is long and attiring process.

Ok now… how can you max?

  1. at level 1 you can drink yellow pots and majors to increase hp

up to 150 hp; do so, if you have them. However, you can always buy all hp you dont get at 

  level 1 later. Yellow pots give 1 or 1-4 hp (3 birds), majors 2 hp or more (depending on
  class).
  1. for maxing ep, you can drink EP pots (black bottles) that you

can find in dungeons (such as n-5) or buy for 500k in Fun House (there is always someone 

  doing courier job to FH and back; you can buy EP pots from them for 500k, since that is
  how much they pay for it there). **Ep pots give you 1-6 ep up to 250 max ep.**
  You can drink them at any level, however maxing ep at level 1 will give you MORE ep. If
  you max ep at level 1, you have about  250 ep. Then you rest to level 13 and get
  about 100 overmax ep. Then you have about 350 eps. Better than maxxing at level 13, right?
  ;o) However it is VERY expensive. Since ep pots are 500k worth and give 1-6, you have to
  pay 21 to 125 megs, usually 50-80 million coins (depending how many eps you get from each
  pot). So try to find ep pots in dungeons rather than buying them at FH (funhouse) or buy
  them for less if these have been found, not bought in FH (usually around 200k). So, make
  friends and they will help you by finding ep pots for you. ;o) Dont get lazy, though ;o)
  Ep pots and leveling are the only sources of perm ep increase until you grow bigger.
  1. at experience level 13 you can start buying HP from hit doc.

That is how are you going to get majority of hps. More about him below.

That filthy greedy hit doc…!

  1. upon reaching level 13, you can start buying hp from hit doc, who is located in

that small hut southeast of Volcano Town. No, there arent any doors. If you jump down the 

  hole in VT and run gauntlet to the end of cave, you find stairs there that lead to him.
  1. or you can blast walls down with grenade, blast hammer or just blast

discipline… Heck, you can even use MA's CHI WALLBREAK :o) or just use door discipline 

  (thief, ment). Illusion works, too.
  1. ok, there you are. Stand on his hex, keep coins in sack… “#nam, buy”

or anything will do, where nam is his name (dont remember it now… think it changes)… 

  since you dont have any coins on floor, he will tell you how much he needs for next hit.
  You can drop coins then tell him something ("#nam, buy" or #nam, hit" or
  whatever) then watch your hp. There ya go :o)
  1. there is another way of buying hp from him… click on his box, choose climbing

skill (he cant take coins for climbing, so he will take coins for hp) and train.

  1. you can buy as many hits as long as you are under hit doc max for your class

(look below for a table of max hp)

  1. yes, hit doc is greedy… maxing with him gets expensive.

So I suggest you to have as high charisma as possible to keep the cost 

  low. Use charisma rings. These arent so rare as you may think, I have found 6 charisma
  rings so far. You just have to look for any good leather rings and you will eventually
  find a few cha rings ;o)
  1. usually it takes 15 - 60 megs to max a crit, depending on class. Ments have to

pay less for maxing, since they have fewer hps to max. Barbarian maxing is much more 

  expensive, since he has lots of hp. It depends on charisma, too... I know a barb with very
  low charisma who had to spend like 140 megs for maxing.

Mino bloods

  1. you can drink mino bloods on km-5 (if you dont know where is it, then you surely

arent big enough :o) to get additional permament hps over hit doc's max

  1. you have to be level 15+ and be in KING MINO LAIR in order to drink them

Overmax hp

  1. after maxing with hit doc and minos you have no other way of gaining permament

hp than leveling. As you level up, you get more hp; you are overmaxed. If you lose some 

  of these hp, either by sucking up by chipper or being eaten... keep in mind that you cant
  fix it by buying at hit doc or drinking minos, as long as you are above both maxes... You
  can always level up and get a few more hp.
  1. so better be careful not to get eaten, if you want to keep hp as high as

possible!

As you grow big and hunt enough lairs, you 

  will find another source of obtaining hits.
